This is a vintage Asbestos Sad iron, the handle units is marked Pat. may 22, 1900 and the iron base is marked asbestos sad iron. The base would be heated on the wood stove and then locked in place by moving the lever either right or left. Measure about 6.5 inch long and it weight about 3kg.
